Sage of Kanchi
Imagine what it would be like to be the Head of hindus. My name is Rijupt and My significant person is the current Sage of Kanchi! His legacy is over 2500 years with an unbroken line of 70 gurus. They revived the Advaitha philosophy which means non-dualism which is followed by all Hindus. We fondly call him Bala Periavaa. Do you know what does that mean in Sanskrit? It means His Holiness who is a kid. You know how did he get that name? He got that name because he became the sage of Kanchi at the young age of 14. Isn’t that interesting? Now, Let me tell you more about his childhood.
Family and growing up
The current sage of Kanchi, Bala Periavaa was born in 1969 in Thandalam,India. He was born as the 8th child in a simple Vedic scholar family. Let me narrate an interesting incident from his childhood. Decades ago a 13 year old boy as you can see in the top right, stood up boldly at a Vedic meet at Kanchi mutt to correct the mistake of an eminent scholar. Everyone was stunned. Can you guess who was that little boy? None other than the current sage of Kanchi Bala Periavaa. He became the 70th sage at 14, as you can see at the left & bottom right pictures. He also started writing spiritual poems at the young age of 14 on his gurus and various Gods. Is’t that amazing!

Why does He inspire me?
Bala Periavaa instills in me a sense of faith, discipline and love. He showed me spirituality is doing good to everyone including all humans, animals, plants and everything in this universe. My love for cows was inspired by him as you can see here. He also taught me the importance of daily prayers, temple worship and vegetarianism. Inspired by him and my rich Indian culture, I perform my prayers thrice everyday. I learn vedas and Sanskrit to understand the meaning. So why did I choose Bala Periyavaa as my significant person? I’m committed to making the world a better place to live by following his principles sincerely. Thanks for Listening, are there any questions?
