Avani Pooram – Rathotsavam Kanchipuram (03-Sep-24)

Avani month Pooram- Rathotsavam performed to Sri Kamakshi Ambal at Kanchipuram.

Ashwatha vruksha pradakshinam – Orikkai (02-Sep-24)

On the auspicious day of Somavara Amavasya, Pujya Acharya Swamiji performed Ashwatha vruksha pradakshinam at Pujya Maha Swamiji Manimandapam, Orikkai. We were reminded of the shloka in praise of the Ashwatha tree:

मूलतो ब्रह्मरूपाय मध्यतो विष्णुरूपिणे ।
अग्रतः शिवरूपाय वृक्षराजाय ते नमः ।।

“Prostrations to you, Ashwatha tree, whose root is in the form of Brahma, the middle is in the form of Vishnu and the top is in the form of Shiva.”

Many Special Events during Chaturmasyam

Music and cultural programmes are organised every day. Special Veda Parayanams, Srimad Ramayana Upanyasam series by Dr. Ranganji, many Pujas and Homams including Rik Samhita Homam, Maharudram, Chandi Homam etc. and, many group Bhikshavandanams including Vaidika, Vadamal, Brihacharanam, Ashtasahasram, Maadhyama etc., are the highlights.

Mookapanchashati Recitation (18-Aug-24)

Mookapanchashati recitation at the camp and in Sri Kamakshi Temple was conducted by Sri Kamakshi Srividya Samiti on 18 August, 2024, the day of Aradhana of Pujyashri Mooka Shankaracharya Swamiji, the 20th Peethadhipati of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.

Annual Panchanga Sadas (14-Aug-24) and Agnihotra Sadas

Annual Panchanga Sadas, observed during Chaturmasyam in the camp venue, was attended by many Vidwans including representatives from Kerala.

Annual Agnihotra Sadas, which followed the Panchanga Sadas, was also attended by many Agnihotris from various parts of Bharat, including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Kashi.

Rig Veda and Yajur Veda Upakarma – Orikkai (19-Aug-24)

With the blessings of Pujyasri Acharya Swamiji, Rig Veda & Yajur Veda Upakarma ( Avani Avittam) was performed at Shrimatam camp at Orikkai. Every year, the Upakarma is performed on the day of Sravana (Tiruvonam) star in the lunar month of Sraavana. After Upanayanam, study of Vedas commences on the first Aavani Avittam day.

Pournami- Visesha pujas at Adi Shankara Vimana Mandapam, Prayagraj (19-Aug-24)

Pournami- Visesha pujas and alankaram was performed to Sahasralingam- Sri Kamakshi Devi at Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Adi Shankar Vimana Mandapam at Triveni Sangamam, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Pournami – Swarna Rathotsavam – Kanchipuram (20-Aug-24)

Pournami- Swarna rathotsavam was performed to Sri Kamakshi Ambal at Kanchipuram on 20 Aug. 2024

Wayanad Relief Fund

Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji, moved by the unprecedented landslide and consequent devastation and loss of life in Wayanad in Kerala, floated Wayanad Relief Fund in order to organise urgent needed help to the suffering masses.

Adi Perukku Festival (2-Aug-24)

The 18th day of the auspicious Tamil month of Aadi is celebrated as Aadi Perukku.It is customary to offer special prayers to the holy Kaveri River on this occasion. As instructed by Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji, prayers were offered by devotees at many kshetras on the banks of Kaveri in a festive mood. In the Camp at Orikkai also, Pujas were performed to river Palar (Ksheereanadi) and Tirtha Prasadam offered to Swamiji.

Chaturmasya Vrata Sankalpam at Orikkai (25-Jul-24)

Pujya Acharya Swamiji performed the Chaturmasya vrata Sankalpam at Sri C h a n d r a m o u l i s w a r a S w a m i P u j a Mandapam, in Orikkai, Near Kanchipuram. Pujya Acharya Swamiji will observe Chaturmasya vratam at Orikkai upto 18 Sep- 24 (Vishwaroopa Yatra).

Shrimatam camp reaches Villupuram (23- Jul-24)

The five-day camp at Tiruvanaikaval concluded on July 23, 2024, with Jayanti celebrations for Pujya shri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji before moving on to Villupuram. After the night halt at Villupuram Shankara Matam, the Yatra concluded with return to Orikkai.

Vyasa Puja at Tiruvanaikovil (21-Jul-24)

On the auspicious day of Guru-Purnima, Pujya Acharya Swamiji performed the Vyasa puja at Tiruvanai kovil Jagadguru Vidyasthanam. Prasadam from various temples were brought in a procession from the Gopuram near Sri Akhilandeshwari Sannidhi and offered to Pujya Acharya Swamiji before the commencement of the Vyasa Puja.

In the evening, a grand procession featuring Sri Veda Vyasa on a decorated elephant was performed around the Mada veethis in Tiruvanaikovil.

Shrimatam camp at Tiruvanaikovil (18-Jul-24)

On the completion of Kasi Yatra, Pujya Acharya Swamiji arrived from Rameshwaram to Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Jagadguru Vidyasthanam, Tiruvanaikovil. Acharya Swamiji performed Vishesha Pujas at the Vidyasthanam:

19th July- Friday- Pradosha puja; 20th July- Saturday- Pournami puja; 21st July- Sunday- Sri Vyasa Puja

Gangabhishekam at Rameshwaram (17-Jul-24)

Pujya Acharya Swamiji performed Gangabhishekam and Shodashopachara Pujas for Sri Parvatavardhini Ambal Sametha Sri Ramanathaswami, using holy waters from the Ganga that were bought during the Yatra to Prayagraj and Varanasi in June 2023. This ceremony marked the completion of the traditional Kashi- Rameswaram Yatra.

Speaking to the press, Pujya Acharya Swamiji praised the nation’s ancient heritage, reflected on past Yatras, and encouraged adherence to Dharma, societal service, and a harmonious life. He also announced plans to expand Kanchi Math’s educational efforts in Rameswaram.

Mahakumbhabhishekam of Sri Kodandarama Swami Sannidhi – Saidapet, Chennai (12-Jul-24)

Pujya Acharya Swamiji blessed the Mahakumbabhishekam of Sri Seeta Lakshmana Sameta Sri Kothandarama swamy Sannidhi in Sri Varasiddhi Vinayakar- Sri Mahalakshmi temple at Saidapet Srinagar Colony in Chennai.

Yagashala pujas of Sri Agastheeswara Swami Temple Nemilicheri, Chennai (11- Jul-24)

Pujya Acharya Swamiji blessed the yagashala pujas performed as part of the Mahakumbabhishekam of Sri Anandavalli Ambal sameta Sri Agastheeswara Swami Temple in Nemilicheri, Chennai.

Bhumi Puja of Shankara Nethralaya at Tondiarpet (16-Jun-24)

Pujyashri Shankaracharya Swamiji blessed the bhumi puja of the proposed construction of Agastya TNK family- Sankara Nethralaya at Tondiarpet, Chennai.

Kumbabhishekam rituals of Sri Vinayaka temple, Tiruvoyur (16-Jun-24)

 

Pujya Acharya Swamiji visited the Adhistanam of Pujyashri Mahadevendra Saraswati (IV) Shankaracharya Swamiji- the 61st Acharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam at Shankaracharya Colony in Tiruvottiyur, and blessed the commencement of Kumbabhishekam rituals of Sri Vinayaka Temple.

New Buildings in Sankara School and Ayurveda College at Nazarathpet (16-Jun- 24)

Pujya Acharya Swamiji visited and blessed the new school building at Jaya Jaya Shankara International School and the new general ward of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital at Nazarethpet, Chennai. Pujya Acharya Swamiji blessed the students, teachers, and other staff of both institutions.
