Every day I worship Bhagavati Kamakshi, who outshines crores of rising moons, seated comfortably in Bhadrasana, effulgent with countless qualities, deluder of the three worlds, on whom all Deva women attend, decorated in divine apparel, and who grants much more than our desires. (1)
Every day I worship the auspicious Kamakshi, enchanting with ornaments, fragrances and garlands, wearing apparel of red colour similar to the sky at dawn, having a parrot and lotus in her hand, ever worshipped by Vishnu, Brahma and others, bestower of discrimination of the eternal and the transient, without parallel, surrounded by Shaktis like Nitya, and who grants much more than our desires. (2)
Every day I worship Kamakshi, residing in Kamakoti, full of splendid consciousness, Iswari of Sarvajna Peetha (seat of omniscience), whose twin feet are worshipped by the great Sanyasi heads of the Mulamnaya Matham, who is possessed of all powers including Will (Ichcha) and Knowledge (Jnana), who grants Liberation of Saamipya etc. and also much more than our desires. (3)
Shastras describe four levels of Moksha (Liberation): Saarupya, having the same form as Devi; Saalokya, residing in the same region as Devi; Saamipya, residing close to Devi; Saayujya, merging indistinguishably with Devi.
Every day I worship Kamakshi, who alone is to be known, who is adored by Vedic mantras, who is of the very essence of the sound of Omkara, who shuns Koulachara (Vaamachara-left-handed) form of worship, who is the Iswari of Samaya (Vedic Tantra) cult, the bestower of splendor on Manmatha, whose neck is adorned with flowers like Jaati, Champaka and Mallika, who is enchanting, and who grants much more than our desires. (4)
Every day I worship the pure, spotless Kamakshi, who is extremely keen on protecting the devotees, the bestower of good fortune, who is the forest-fire for grief, the granter of desires like Kamadhenu to those who prostrate, whose mind is pleased with Mudras (gestures of hand), who is adored by multitudes of sages, who is the consort of Shambhu (Shiva) (Devi is the source of Shakti of Shiva), and who grants much more than our desires. (5)
Every day I worship Kamakshi, who is the sole destination for Moksha, who is adorned with saffron-mixed fragrance and with beautiful gem-studded, shining golden crown, whose eyes are like lotus petals, who is worshipped by groups of divine beings, humans, Siddhas and brahmanas, and who grants much more than our desires. (6)
Every day I worship Kamakshi, who is Maya (the great Power of Delusion), who is the protector of humans, who is sweet like honey (or, who is the highest state in Yoga), who wears garland of Mandara flowers, who very much likes Yagas like Somayaga, who is worshipped by Devas, who is the source of the essence of beauty and love, who has lotus face adorned with enchanting smile, who has three eyes (Surya, Chandra and Agni), who is adorned with black curls of locks, and who grants much more than our desires. (7)
Mandara is one of the five trees of Devaloka – Mandara, Kalpaka, Parijata, Harichandana and Santana.
Every day I worship Kamakshi, who grants the bliss of Brahman, who bestows auspiciousness, who gives the knowledge of Self to humans, who is to be meditated upon, who enhances dharma, who provides wealth, who is worshipped in three abodes (Kanchi, Madurai and Kashi as Kamakshi, Meenakshi and Vishalakshi), who is the presiding deity of mantras, who grants all attainments (Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha) to those who chant her mantras, and who grants much more than our desires. (8)
Every day I worship Kamakshi, who enables us to cross the ocean of Samsara (cycle of birth and death), who is adored by Devendra, Subrahmanya and Ganapati, whose head is radiant with crescent moon, who is the daughter of Himavan, whose eyes extend upto the ears, who is very desirous of Veena music, who grants victory, who removes the deficiencies like barrenness in woman, and who grants much more than our desires.
