Events in Shri Kanchi Shankara Matham

Devi Navaratri at Chennai 22nd Sep onwards

Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji and Pujya Shri Satya Chandrashekharendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji will observe Vishvavasu Samvatsara Sharannavaratri Utsavam from 22 Sep to 2 Oct 2025 at Sri Kanchi Mahaswami Vidya Mandir, Rajakilpakkam, Chennai.

Special Japas, Parayanams and Homams would be performed during this period. The Trikala Sri Maha Tripurasundari sametha Sri Chandramouliswara Swami Puja, Abhishekams, Sahasra Chandi Mahayajna, a grand Kolu and cultural programmes are a few of the highlights of the Navaratri festival. Excellent arrangements have been made for Darshan.

Sri Mahaperiyava Mandapam, Sri Kanchi Kosh, Sri Jayendram, Shanmatha Presentation etc. are a must visit.

The invitation for the Devi Navaratri Mahotsavam at Sri Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal Devasthanam, Kanchipuram, was presented to Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji at Tirupati, and Acharya Swamiji’s blessings were graciously received.

Vishwarupa Yatra – Tirupati (07-Sep-25)

Marking the conclusion of the Vishwavasu year Chaturmasya Vrata observed at Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Mahapaduka Manadapam in the punya kshetra Tirupati, Pujyashri Shankaracharya Swamijis performed the Vishwarupa Yatra on Bhadrapada Purnima- 7 Sep. 2025, walking in a procession to the serene precincts of “Divyaramam” near Kapilateertham. After chanting of the Vishwarupa Adhyaya of Bhagavadgita, puja was performed to Sri Krishna. Pujyashri Shankaracharya Swamiji blessed the gathering of devotees with Anugraha Bhashanam. The Chaturmasya vratam this year, commencing with Vyasa Puja on Aashada Purnima, witnessed penance and austerities, japas, homas, ishtis, visesha pujas, vratas, dhanas, Veda parayanam, Agnihotra sabha, Vidwat sadas, Panchanga sadas, Purohita sabha, several gatherings of pandits and scholars, multiple devotional cultural programmes every day, and many other spiritual and cultural activities. It was a blessing to receive Jagadguru’s Anugraha bhashanams on various occasions, in multiple languages. Devotees from far and wide participated having darshan of Sri Chandramouliswara Swami pujas, performing bhikshavandanams, pada pujas, darshan of Pujya Shankaracharya Swamijis, and soaking in the spiritual bliss, receiving the bountiful blessings of Pujyashri Acharyas

The grand Rathotsavam was performed this evening at Sri Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal Devasthanam, Kanchipuram, witnessed by a large number of devotees.

Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan Receives Divine Blessings from Ubhaya Jagadgurus – Tirupati (29-AUG-2025)

Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, presently the Vice President of India (then candidate), sought the blessings of the Ubhaya Jagadguru Shankaracharyas of the Moolamnaya Sarvajna Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.

Road at Ayodhya named after Pujya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji (26-Aug 2025) 

The Mayor of Ayodhya Sri Girish Pati Tripathi today named a road in Ayodhya as Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Maharaj Marg on behalf of Ayodhya Nagar Nigam. The Kanchi Shankar Math branch is located in Pramodvan area on that road. In a brief function held on this event at Shri Kanchi Math, Ayodhya Shakha, the Mayor along with councillors, locals of Ayodhya, Vedic Scholars & Veda Vidyarthis first walked in a procession to inaugurate the plaque and then spoke about Pujya Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji’s special association & blessings on Ayodhya town & Ayodhya temple movement & its people. Sri Ranganji participated in the function.

Discussion with Swamis from BAPS (21-AUG-25)

Renowned Sanskrit scholar Bhadreshdas Swami shared insights on the Sanskrit scripture promotion initiatives of BAPS and engaged in a discussion on the future of the Sanskrit language with Acharya Swamiji.

Sivakama Sundari Sametha Ananda Natarajar (20-AUG-25)

With the divine blessings of the Kanchi Kamakoti Acharyas, the members of Kunchithapada Sahayam, together with the Kanchi Periva Namavaibhavam group, prepared for a sacred Samarpanam of the Kunchitha Padam—crafted with precious stones—to Ananda Natarajar at Chidambaram.

This auspicious offering took place on Viswavasu Samvatsaram, Simha (Avani) month 21st day — 6th September 2025 (Saturday), under Shravishta Nakshathram (Avittam) and Chaturdashi Tithi.

In anticipation of this divine event, members of the Kunchithapada Sahayam group visited Tirupati on 20th August 2025 and received the blessings of the Acharya Swamijis.

Prasadams from various Devasthanams offered to Pujya Shankaracharya Swamijis (20-AUG-25)

Prasadams from Shri Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal Devasthanam, Shri Akhilandeswari Sametha Jambukeswara Swamy Devasthanam, Srirangam Shri Ranganayaki Sametha Ranganathaswamy Devasthanam, and Valaingaman Sri Seethala Mahamariamman Temple were reverentially offered to Pujyashri Acharya Swamijis of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam at Tirupati.

Acharya Swamiji Chanting Srimad Bhagavad Gita with young Devotees (14-AUG-25)

Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji recited verses from the Bhagavad Gita along with a few young devotees and encouraged them to chant it regularly on Dwadashi and Amavasya days.

Pujyashri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji’s Jayanti Mahotsavam (10-Aug-25)

The Jayanthi Mahotsavam of Jagadguru Pujyashri Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji was celebrated at various locations across Bharata and overseas.

Shrimatam camp, Tirupati

Jayanthi Mahotsavam of Jagadguru Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamiji was celebrated at Shrimatam camp at Tirupati in a grand manner with Veda Parayanam, Homams etc. Special Pada puja was performed in the evening by Acharya Swamiji.

Shri Kanchi Shankar Mutt, Ayodhya

The  Jayanthi Mahotsavam was celebrated with Veda Sammelan, homams, parayans, and a grand procession. Annaprasadam was served to nearly 500 devotees, and Vidwans were honored. Leaders from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, RSS, VHP, and Karsevakpuram participated. On 11th August, Shankara Eye Foundation, Kanpur, held an Eye Camp at the Mutt.

International Research Conference on Divine Tamil 

This grand conference was held in Sri Sankara College, Enathur on 10 and 11 Aug 2025 to coincide with the Jayanthi Utsavam of Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji. The conference was addressed by Shri Jayaraj of Sri Lanka (Kambavaridhi) and other scholars. Many intellectuals participated. Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji delivered online an inspiring Anugraha Bhashanam. Books in Tamil on Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji’s Himalayan achievements, Sthala Puranams of 51 Temples in Kanchipuram and a couple of other research texts were released on the occasion. Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji Divine Tamil Trust with proposed outlay of Rs. One crore was also inaugurated on the occasion. A Religious exhibition was also held.

Rig and Yajur Veda Upakarma at Shri Shankara Matam, Tirupati – (09-AUG-25)

With the benign blessings and presence of Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji, Rig Veda Upakarma was performed at the Shri Sankara Matam Paduka Mandapam, Tirupati, in the morning.

Rameswaram Vaidika Bhikshavandanam (6-Aug-2025)

Rameswaram Vaidika Bikshavandanam was performed at the Tirupati Sri Shankara Matam camp. On the occasion, Sri Ramanathaswami Prasadam was offered to Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji.

Annual Agnihotra Sabha – Tirupati (02-AUG-25)

The annual Agnihotri Sabha, a confluence of Agnihotris from across Bharata, concluded on 2 Aug 205 at the Shrimatam camp in Tirupati. The four-day event (29th July–2nd August) featured discourses, rituals, and concluded with the honoring of participating scholars, who received sambhavana and the blessings of Pujyashri Acharya Swamijis. Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari graced the occasion and addressed the gathering.

Adi Perukku celebrated at Tirupati (02-AUG-25)

Adi Perukku (18th day of the Tamil month of Adi) – Kavery puja was performed at Kapila teertham in Tirupati. The sanctified water was taken in procession from the temple tank to Shrimatam camp at Mahapaduka Mandapam, Tirupati.

Vishwavasu Samvatsaram – Vyasa Puja, Chaturmasya Vrata Sankalpam at Tirupati(10-JUL-25)

Pujyashri Acharya Swamijis performed Vyasa Puja at Tirupati and initiated the Chaturmasya Vratam, observed until 7th September. After the Punah-puja, Pujya Shankaracharya Swamijis then performed the Sankalpam for the Chaturmasya Vratam ( Vishwavasu Samvatsaram) to be observed from 10th July (Vyasa Puja) to 7th September 2025  at Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Mahapaduka Mandapam, near Alipiri, Tirupati. 

Devotees received blessed Vyasa Akshata Prasadam.

Mahakumbhabhishekams at Sri Shankara Math, Arani and Sri Dharaneeswara Swamy Temple, Thandalam (07-JUL-25)

The Ashtabandhana Mahakumbabhishekam of Sri Adi Shankaracharya Vigraham was performed by Pujyashri Acharya Swamijis at Sri Shankara Math, Arani village near Thandalam (Purvashrama birthplace of Acharya Swamiji), on the morning of 7th July 2025.

The Maha Kumbabhishekam of Sri Dharaneeswara Swami temple at Thandalam was also performed by Acharya Swamijis on the same day.

Pujyashri Acharya Swamijis arrived at Thandalam near Periyapalayam to a traditional welcome.

Maha Kumbhabhishekam of Kandazheeswara Temple, Kundrathur, Chennai (5-Jul-2025)

Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji visited the Yagashala at Kandazheeswara Temple at Kundrathur near Chennai in the evening on the eve of Kumbhabhishekam performed the next day. In his Anugraha Bhashanam, Acharya Swamiji mentioned that the sounds of Damaru of Shiva during his celestial dance as Nataraja have formed the source of all languages

Inauguration of various centers in Madras Sanskrit College, Mylapore (18-Jun-25)

Pujyashri Acharya Swamiji blessed the commencement of various initiatives at Madras Sanskrit College, Mylapore, Chennai, on 18th June 2025 evening.

The principal of Sanskrit college appealed to the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swamiji to bless the new initiative of college i.e. introducing SAIVAGAMA SIROMANI program along with other sastric studies. Acharya Swamiji praised the initiatives of the Srimatham since Mahaperiyava days in reviving the traditional teaching of Saivagama by various means.

Vanotsavam (Day 3) – Sri Kamakshi Ambal Devasthanam, Kanchipuram (13-Jun-25)

Day 3 of Vasantotsavam was celebrated at Sri Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal Devasthanam, Kanchipuram, with devotees participating in the sacred festivities and receiving the blessings of Ambal.
