नौमि श्रीकामकोटीशं श्रीजयेन्द्रसरस्वतीम् ।
भूतिभूषितभालंच करुणापूर्णलोचनम् ॥ १
I prostrate to Shri Jayendra Saraswathi, the Kamakoti Peethadhipati, whose forehead shines with Vibhuti and whose eyes radiate with fullness of compassion. (1)
काषायवस्त्रदण्डाद्यै-र्लसन्तं मस्करीं वरम् ।
मन्दस्मितं मुदोपेतं काञ्चीपुर्यामधिष्ठितम् ॥ २
The eminent Yati shines with ochre robes, staff etc., has gentle smile, exudes joy and has Adhishthana in Kanchipuram. (2)
समं चाखिलभूतेषु यस्य वाणी सुधामयी ।
कल्याणार्थं जनानां च कल्पितानेकयोजनम् ॥ ३
The Acharya is equanimous with all beings; his words are indeed nectar. He makes numerous plans for the wellbeing of all people. (3)
वर्षयन्तं स्वभक्तेषु फलानीहपरत्र च ।
वेदशास्त्रादिशिक्षायाः पुनःसंस्थापनाय च ॥ ४
The Acharya showers on his devotees fruits for this world as well as the next. For reestablishing training in Vedas, Shastras etc. …. (4)
आधुनिकविद्यायाश्च व्यवस्था गुरुणा कृता ।
विश्वविद्यालयस्सार्धं पाठशालाः सुनिःष्ठिताः॥ ५
And also in modern streams of knowledge, arrangements were made by the Guru. Pathashalas (Vedic as well as modern), along with University were established. (5)
विवर्धनार्थं भक्त्याश्च अध्यात्मप्रवृत्याश्च वै ।
देवालयाश्च बह्वर्थाः मठाश्चापि व्यवस्थिताः ।। ६
For profuse development of bhakti and deep interest in spirituality, many temples and Mathams were organised. (6)
रुग्णालयाश्च सर्वेषां हितार्थाय च सज्जिताः ।
तत्रापि नेत्रवैद्यस्य गुरोश्चिन्ता विशेषतः ॥ ७
For overall wellbeing of all people, medical centres were set up. Further, the Guru was specially concerned with treatment of eye diseases. (7)
सदा वहन्तं सौलभ्य–सौशील्यादि गुणान् बहून् ।
अटन्तं देशविस्तारे सन्मार्गस्थापितप्रजम् ॥ ८
The Guru is always marked by many benevolent characteristics like ease of access, excellent disposition etc. He moves about in the country far and wide, establishing people on the path of Dharma. (8)
प्रतिष्ठितबहुक्षेत्र–भगवत्पादविग्रहम् ।
अद्वैततत्त्वप्राकट्य–नेतारं गुरुमाश्रये ॥ ९
I surrender to the Guru, who installed the idols of Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada in numerous sacred sites, and who is the great guide in propagation of Advaita principles. (9)
विवृद्धिं देवभक्त्याश्च गुरुभक्त्यास्तथैव च ।
धर्ममार्गे सुधृत्याश्च प्रार्थये गुरुसन्निधौ ॥ १०
I pray in the presence of the Guru for abundant development of bhakti of Bhagavan and of the Guru and of great courage in adhering to the path of Dharma. (10)
