I bow everyday delightedly to Devī Kāmākṣī, the left half of Ekāmranātha, the bestower of wishes and the destroyer of lust and anger.
I offer my obeisances to Kāmākṣī, who, pleased with the recitation of poetry, is the giver of the abundant flow of poetic nectar, Bharati (the deity of knowledge), the bestower of the power of speech to Mukashankara (the author of Mukapanchashati, who was dumb earlier and blessed by Kamakshi)
I praise the mother who is full of unconditional compassion, giver of pure bliss, adorns Kāňcī, glorified through hymns by the sages who have conquered their external desires.
O Kāmākṣī! Celestial maiden! Your mind dwells in the lotus-heart of Ekāmreśvara! Kindly accept my salutations.
I praise Vaiṣṇavī Kāmākṣī who is meditated upon inside the heart through wisdom and devotion by the supreme preceptors of the great Kāmakoṭipīṭha.
May Sister of Hari, Kāmākṣī, who is the cool ocean of nectar for the one who gets scorched by the fire of worldly existence, reside in my mind.
O mother! The dweller of Kāňcīpura! Kindly bestow upon me supreme devotion at the lotus feet of the lord Lakṣmīnṛsimha.
Lying in the mother’s lap, I trouble repeatedly. Does the mother abandon her child? O Kāmākṣī! Kindly protect me!
O Kāmākṣī! You know my feelings by residing in my heart. O Śivapriye (Dear to lord Śiva)! Act so that it may be auspicious for me!
By reading this auspicious poem of mother with deep devotion, may one attain the fulfilment of true desires, having obtained her compassionate glance.
This poem was composed with devotion by the ascetic named Ānandabodha, whose mind is like a bee at the lotus-feet of the king of yogis Gaṅgādharendra.
This is the Kāmākṣī Navaratnamālikāstotra (Previous page) composed by the ascetic Śrī Ānandabodhendrasarasvati, the disciple of the venerable Śrī Śrī Gaṅgādharendrasarasvati, who was born from the lotus-hands of (initiated by) Paramahamsa Śrī Śrī Sarvajňedrasarasvati, most eminent teacher and wandering monk.”
